Canoe on Lake Louise
This was shot on film, probably 400 ISO, and then scanned on a Nikon film scanner. It is very grainy--in fact, zooming in on it in Photoshop, it almost looks impressionistic. Decided to try to deconstruct it some and give it a sort of desaturated Holga look, using the Flaming Pear plug-in called Melancholytron, and some adjustment layers in Photoshop.
Looking at the huge grain in the raw scan made me appreciate shooting in digital now. If you've not made the jump, do... it will expand your horizons. Noise in a 1600 ISO digital image is nothing like the huge colored clumps in this image's original scan from the color neg.
