Summer Sunset

Summer Sunset

Not an exceptional photo, but a pleasing view--one I've taken in many variations of time of day and atmospheric conditions. I found this image on a small portable drive. It was taken 2 years ago with the D200 from work and the Nikon 28-200mm lens, a lens I used with my N80 film camera. When I bought my D80 I was told to buy a digital lens, thus I got the 18-135mm which is essentially the same lens in digital focal length. However, I was never happy with the 18-135 and sold it recently, along with the 55-200mm VR and purchased the 18-200mm VR which I think I'm going to like better.

When I took this photo (and a couple that will follow) I remember being amazed at the sharpness of the 28-200 lens. Ken Rockwell has written a favorable review here. I've been meaning for a year now to put the 28-200mm on my D80 and test it out... maybe I'll get back around to giving it a try--maybe even test it against the 18-200mm VR. (...and no, I'm not becoming a pixel-peeper...)
